Walking in Sacred Footsteps

This week Jay and I went camping in the area where the Mormon Pioneers walked and suffered while trying to get to the Salt Lake Valley. We were asked to plan and cook the food for our group. I was able to get just a small taste of what they had to endure as I walked where they had walked so many years ago. As we crossed the Sweetwater River in the heat of the day and felt the refreshing cool water I thought of them. They crossed it when it was freezing and cold without all the comforts we had. I am so greatful for the sacrifices they made in order to be members of the church. Allthough I don't have any ancestors who came accross the plains, I am thankful for those who did and for thier great love of the Gospel.
