So Jay and I left early Saturday morning for the airport in Salt Lake to fly to Buffalo for our week vacation in New York and the cabin in Pa. We had a great flight and arrived at the cabin around 7 p.m. Very long day. Just as we were going to bed the phone rang. It was late for a phone call and I was closest to it so I picked it up. The woman asked for a Sister Hammond. I figured she wanted my Mother in law. Then she said she was with Elder Hammond. Instincts as a mom...what would you think. I thought that too. Anyway she told me he had been having severe pains all day and that they would being doing surgery that night to remove his appendics. I know its a simple procedure but when you are 3000 miles away from your baby, that is not comforting. Well all went well. I got to talk to him that night and the next day, so treat for me. He said he was fine and ready to get back to work. That's my boy! Here are a few pics the mission president sent us.
